The NanaProof 10-Second Link Check (Before You Click)

Most scams don’t “hack” you. They trick you into clicking.

Use this 10-second NanaProof link check every time you see a link in a DM, email, comment, or “support” message.

Step 1 — Pause (2 seconds)

Before you click, stop. Scammers rely on speed and emotion.

Step 2 — Check the source (3 seconds)

Ask: Who sent this, and why now?
Red flags:

  • You didn’t ask for help, but “support” contacted you
  • The message feels urgent (“last chance”, “account locked”)
  • The sender name looks official but the account is new or odd

Step 3 — Read the URL like a scanner (5 seconds)

Look for:

  • Misspellings (ex: “binanse”, “metamask-support”)
  • Extra words (ex: “verify”, “sync”, “restore”)
  • Strange endings (unexpected .xyz, .top, random subdomains)
  • Shortened links you can’t see

Rule: If you can’t verify the URL, don’t open it.

What to do instead (safe move)

  • Type the website address yourself (or use a trusted bookmark)
  • Use the official app, not a random link
  • If it’s urgent — it’s probably a scam

NanaProof rule:
Pause → Verify → Only then click.
